Sun Devils Against Sexual Assault (SDASA) is a group of current and former Arizona State University students, staff, and faculty, committed to ending sexual violence on/around campus and at off-campus programming.
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 requires that schools protect students from sexual harassment and assault. ASU and other universities have undergone and continue to undergo federal investigation of their failure to enforce Title IX. We are survivors and allies who are disappointed in the way ASU blames, shames, and silences victims of sexual violence.
SDASA provides peer support and connects victims and their allies with resources and options. We try to help the university implement policies and practices that validate victims’ experiences and more proactively combat cultures of sexual violence on campus.
